Black Caesar Month - Four

To round out Black History Caesar Month, we had to dig one of DCD's favorites, Miss Lyn Collins (Check out Women's Month - Nov 2012 for some of her previous digs). If you want to know how funky this song was back in 1973, let's see how the Soul Train Dancers responded to it!

Black Caesar Month - Three

Honestly, this song has nothing to do with the movie, but is by far the funkiest thing on the soundtrack. The director I guess figured the only place to put this song is in a party scene.

Digging while Riding

For some true Memphis-type pimping, you have to check out Memphis' own Isaac Hayes breezy tune from the Truck Turner soundtrack. But make sure you listed to it with the windows down, and a pretty woman riding shotgun.

Get Down

I first ran across this song a few years ago when the first DJ Hero game came out with their cold mix with Afrika Bambaataa's "Zulu Nation Throwdown". I figured this had to be a classic DJ Flash mix from the classic days because it blended so well together. Nevertheless, I wanted to share the song by itself with the DCD Family.

Because I love you, I'll include the the Bambaata song...

What the hey... here's the DJ Hero Mix with both of them together

Undig Yourself

This is one of James Brown's old "flames". She dropped a few hits that made quite a buzz in both the 60s Soul Era, as well as the hip hop era. We dug her a while back and had to bring her back up to the speaker for your listening pleasure. Now check out Marva making us Unwind! Shout out to Ed Lover for dancing and DJ Kool for Clearing His Throat to this one...

Uphill Digging

One of the most underrated breaks ever came from this Kid Dynamite tune. Check out this oldie but goodie, and make sure listen all the way through!

Check out jazz great, Lou Donaldson. For you hip hoppers, Eazy Mo Bee sampled this a few times. See if you can pick it up.
