Funky White Month - Digs The Limit
In this week's Funky White Month entry, we bring you Bobby Caldwell. Most people have heard "What You Won't Do For Love" and some have heard Common sample "Open Your Eyes" for one of his hits, but in true DCD fashion we dug up a hidden gem that people might not know about. See if you can name the late 90s hit that used this one.

Funky White Month - Digging The Mardi Gras
Now Peter Piper Picked Peppers... Run DMC made this sample famous with their classic Peter Piper, and it all came from the jazz great Bob James. What more can I say about this track, but just take a listen. Also, if you check below the video, you will see the scores of sample credits that hip hoppers have used over the years.

Funky White Month - Lowdown Digging
This Funky White Month dig comes from a brother by the name of Boz Scaggs. I can't consider this a dig because he sold like 5 million copies of this album and won a Grammy for this song... but since he's white and he's funky, I had to give him his props.

Funky White Month - Digging The Jingling
For this installment of Funky White Month, we bring you Detroit's own Dennis Coffey. If you dig enough you'll find this guitarist on the back of many classic albums back in the day. Most notably he was one of the house musicians with Motown and the Funk Brothers, and I also think he worked the Black Belt Jones soundtrack. This particular dig has been used by many in the game, probably best when Marley Marl remixed one of LL's biggest hits. Check it!
